Conversations at the Doorstep: Listening to Ward 2

During the last few weeks, I’ve had the privilege of walking our neighborhoods and stopping at so many of your homes across Ward 2. While I still have many more doors to knock on before the end of October, every single conversation so far has been deeply rewarding. At home after home, I’ve been welcomed with open dialogue, warm smiles, and generous hospitality – even offered water and a wonderful blueberry scone.

These doorstep visits have given us a chance to reflect on what makes Brock Township such an incredible place to live, work, and raise a family. But we’ve also had honest conversations about the challenges our community faces. During times of rising property taxes, a high cost of living, and growing grocery bills—people are looking for real accountability and thoughtful leadership from local government.

One topic that comes up frequently is how our government operates, particularly when it comes to local roads and infrastructure around Ward 2. It can often be confusing to figure out where municipal responsibility ends and regional, provincial, or federal jurisdiction begins. Navigating these overlapping layers of government requires clear communication, transparency, and a commitment to helping residents find answers.

As your candidate, I won’t make empty promises. What I will promise is to answer every email to the best of my ability, respect every question asked, and follow up with the residents of Ward 2. I will not have every answer right away, but I will work hard to find the facts and report back—regardless of whether the news is good or bad.

As election day draws near, I look forward to meeting as many of you as possible and continuing these meaningful discussions.

A Reminder on Voting in Brock:

Advance voting mail should be arriving in your mailboxes this week! Brock Township offers 10 Days, 3 Ways to Vote, making it easier than ever to cast your ballot. Let's aim for a record turnout this year and make our collective voice heard.

Thank you for opening your doors, sharing your stories, and helping shape the future of our township!
