Why I love calling Beaverton Home

There is a special kind of energy in Beaverton when our community comes together, and this past week was a perfect snapshot of what makes living in a small town so rewarding.

From Thursday evening at the Underground Bakeshop, where Evelyn hosted a lovely ladies' night and invited local women who are running for council this fall, to Friday evening at the Beaverton Fairgrounds, the town was buzzing with activity. The gathering at the bakeshop provided a wonderful opportunity for women to connect, discuss community matters, and enjoy appetizers, coffee, or a lovely glass of wine. It was a great evening spent reconnecting with familiar faces and meeting new ones along the way.

On Friday, the fairgrounds came alive as families gathered to enjoy a movie in the park, while the sounds of Friday night baseball echoed in the background. Moments like these create the warm, welcoming atmosphere that makes our town feel like home.

Community-focused events such as these bring neighbours together without placing additional financial strain on local families or municipal budgets. Providing low-cost and free activities is an excellent example of fiscal responsibility in action, delivering meaningful community benefits while helping keep the cost of living manageable for everyone.

Events like these reinforce the importance of supporting initiatives that bring people together and strengthen the welcoming, close knit spirit that makes Beaverton and Brock Township such special places to live.
