There is something incredibly grounding about a high school graduation. It’s a rare moment where an entire community pauses, steps away from the daily hustle, and gathers under one roof to celebrate the future. Last night, I had the absolute privilege of attending the Brock High School graduation ceremony, and I am still buzzing from the energy in the room.
As I looked out at the sea of caps and gowns, I was reminded of just how fast time moves—and how vital it is to honor the milestones along the way.
A Proud Moment for the Beaverton Lions
One of the highlights of my evening was representing the Beaverton Lions to present several meaningful awards and bursaries. The Lions Club is deeply rooted in supporting our youth, and being able to hand out these awards to such deserving individuals was a true honor.
I want to extend a massive, heartfelt congratulations to the recipients of:
The Glen Creighton Memorial Award
The Larry Avery Memorial Award
The Year 4 Scholarship Top Academic Female Award
The James McDougall Memorial Bursary
These awards represent more than just academic excellence or extracurricular dedication; they embody character, perseverance, and the spirit of community. To the recipients: your hard work has not gone unnoticed. You have set a phenomenal standard, and we are all incredibly proud of you.
To the Entire Graduating Class
While it was a privilege to recognize specific award winners, the night truly belonged to every single student who walked across that stage.
To the entire Brock High School graduating class: you did it!
You have spent years studying, growing, navigating challenges, and building friendships. Last night was the culmination of all that grit and dedication. Take a moment to let that sink in. You earned this.

The Next Step (and a Place to Call Home)
The beauty of this milestone is that the road ahead looks different for everyone. As you take your next step, remember that there is no single "right" path:
Some of you are taking a well-deserved gap year to travel, explore, and see the world.
Some of you are packing your bags for college or university, ready to dive deeper into your passions.
Some of you are stepping straight into the workforce, ready to make an immediate impact.
Whatever your next chapter holds, embrace it with open arms and an open mind.
A reminder to the grads: Brock Township is a very special place. It is a community that roots for its own, celebrates your victories, and supports you through the hurdles. No matter how far your journey takes you, or how many years pass, this community will always be a place you can call home.
Congratulations to the graduates, their families, and the staff at Brock High School. The future looks incredibly bright in your hands
